Catch the local singing group, Da Capo, as they perform toe-tapping favorites at one of their next performances here in the Mount Washington Valley.

Plato recognized the beauty and inspirational quality of music when he said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” Music also has a way of evoking powerful nostalgic feelings which you might experience for yourself when you recall the melody and the words of the 1967 blockbuster “Happy Together” by the Turtles, “Imagine me and you, I do, I think about you day and night, it’s only right, to think about the girl you love, and hold her tight, So happy together!”
If you cracked a smile, or if you find yourself singing the associated melody later on today, then you may want to catch the local singing group, Da Capo, as they perform this and many other toe-tapping favorites at an upcoming performances in the Mt. Washington Valley.
The vocal group is made up of approximately 25 singers that often break into six or even eight-part harmony performing a mix of pop, contemporary musical, jazz and acapella favorites.
Da Capo was formed in 2008 as a group to sing popular styles of music that entertain and engage their audience, adding to the musical fare available throughout the Valley.
Da Capo is currently directed by the multi-talented Mary Bastoni – a much beloved teacher of voice at her private studio in Fryeburg, and as adjunct faculty at USM, as well as accomplished singer, actress, artist and director. Accompanying and co-directing the group is the very capable John Waldie, who has extensive experience in choral directing. The two are enthusiastic in their leadership, making rehearsals a fun learning experience, and the group is dedicated and willing to work on their singing abilities making performances equally rewarding to not only the listening audience but to the performers as well.
